Summer’s here, and whether you like it or not it’s time to switch up your normal plans for vacation fun. Wouldn’t it be great if there were a place that offered a creative alternative to the standard babysitting or summer camp? What if the entire family had the chance to get involved? Well, it just so happens that one of the GWCC’s members offers just that.

4“Are you ready to Step into your Limelight?” The Limelight Performing Arts Center, located at 319 Westtown Road, Suite W, has a special offer-just for you.

Ann Pinto McCarney, owner and artistic director of Limelight has been producing, directing and choreographing for over 14 successful years as one of the Founders and now Managing Producer and Artistic Director of West Chester Summer Stage. Her vision to provide a channel for artistic curiosity expanded when she opened the doors to Limelight this past October. As a up and coming popular local destination for camps, some might assume Limelight is just for the kids. Don’t be fooled- Limelight welcomes people of ALL ages (small children to adult) and ALL experience levels (both amateur and even professional)! Whether you’ve got a three-year-old with a knack for belting out “Let it Go,” or you’re suppressing your own desire to venture out onto the stage, give Limelight a shot!

Limelight’s programs range from weekly camp options, group and private classes to birthday parties and more! The classes and musical productions are for all ages (make it a family affair!). They offer Teen Karaoke regularly, Girl Scout Troop field trips, and unique Birthday party entertainment (yes even…Olaf can make an appearance).

Though Limelight has a variety of programs to choose from right now, their plans to grow aren’t ending anytime soon. Eventually, they will grow the space as a venue for semi-professional and professional musical productions, plays, comedy nights, cabarets, recitals, jazz bands, solo performances, and so on. It’s simply true that “Limelight is a blank canvas that we can all draw our dreams upon.”

1The response to Limelight’s initiatives has been overwhelming, with interests from all different areas and schools. Most anticipated at the moment are Limelight’s summer camps, which are weekly-themed and jam-packed with fun. These camps run from mid-June until the end of August. With options for half or full day attendance, it’s a summer plan to consider! (Not to mention, the cost per child equates to just $10-$11 dollars an hour-yes, please!) So, ask yourself: “What are the kids doing this summer?” Better Yet: “What am I doing this summer?” Give your family (and yourself) a chance to explore creativity and “Step into the Limelight!”

As a valued Chamber member, Limelight Performing Arts is doing something special. They’ve offered a special discount just for our Chamber members! Work in the borough? Use this discount to send your little ones to camp this summer! All you have to do is use the discount code: “chamber”.
