DECA, a global organization, prepares emerging high school and college leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Please see the message below with several details and a survey. This event prepares students for real world business situations and also provides a wonderful networking opportunity for you as there will be over 60 judges from our local area.

Call for JUDGES for DECA District 9 Competitions

Date: Tuesday, December 5, 2017
Place: Valley Forge Convention Center, King of Prussia
Time: 10:15am – 2:15pm
(Lunch will be served & all judges are invited to the Banquet & Awards 5:00pm)

Thank you for taking the time to consider acting as a judge for DECA. DECA competition gives students the opportunity to acquire skills needed in today’s workplace. The judge’s responsibility is to participate in a role-play situation with the student and to then rate the students on their performance. We expect to have 700 students participating in 25 events.

Survey: Please complete this survey letting us know if you are able volunteer on December 5, if there are any technical difficulties you can always email me at

Sample Role Play Video: Here is a link to a role play sample video. Notice the role of the judge, they typically begin the role play and then the student will share their response to the case study.

Students who win awards in these competitions will be eligible to compete at the state level. This conference could not take place without the help of business and education leaders dedicated to the youth of our community. Please complete the survey or contact me at if you can attend. You may also contact any of the teachers you have dealt with in the past.

Thank you,
