Get to Know the New Board Member

Please join us in welcoming new member of the GWCC Board of Directors, Robin Barbacane of Renhead, Inc. We asked a variety of questions to help us get to know Robin a little better (and no, this was not part of the interview process).

Where did you grow up?
Mt. Holly, New Jersey

What’s the most interesting thing about you that isn’t on your resume?
I was quite adventurous in my younger years, I was an avid whitewater rafter, I have jumped out of a plane and I have traveled to 48 of the 50 states in the US.

What’s your favorite movie?
Currently: a Star is Born

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A Soap Opera Star! (that’s also my secret guilty pleasure, I still record and watch the Young and the Restless every day. LOL! I used to watch it as a kid with my mom and Grandmom. That, and Guiding Light. So it makes me think of them.) or an Interviewer on the Today Show.

Where did you go on your most recent vacation?
Tortola and the BVIs

What is one thing on your bucket list?
Publish my children’s books that I wrote.

Who is your favorite actor?
Currently: Bradley Cooper

Vanilla or chocolate?
Vanilla, of course! Duh!

What’s the last book you read?
Overcoming Dyslexia. My son is Dyslexic, so I read a lot about that to understand it better.

If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?
It used to be, being able to read people’s thoughts but Social Media has kind of done that for us now and it’s a bit scary!

If you see a puddle on the ground, do you walk around it or over it?
Jump in it! …if not wearing my favorite dress shoes!

If you could go back to anytime in history, what year would you go?
The Roaring 20’s! I picture it like the Great Gatsby and it all seems so much larger than life. I think that was an interesting time. The fashion, the music, the issues, all quite intriguing. For sure not the 80s! I grew up in Jersey in the 80’s. You do the math!  It was quite an interesting chapter of my life! Particularly the fashion. Yikes!

If you came back in your next life as an animal, what animal would you be?
My dog! We should have named her Riley, because she certainly lives the life!!
