Strike Up the Bands with La Difference Salon and CTDI at 40th Annual QVC West Chester Christmas Parade

The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that La Difference Salon & Day Spa and CTDI will sponsor the Strike Up the Bands band competition at this year’s 40th Annual QVC West Chester Christmas Parade, slated to take place Friday, December 6, 2019.

Strike Up the Bands is a competition between local high school marching bands during the QVC West Chester Christmas Parade. Three professional judges will evaluate the bands based on music execution, music general effect, marching style and presentation, as well as use of color. Participants will compete for more than $5,000 in prize money, with the Grand Champion band of the evening awarded $1,200 and a congratulatory trophy. Last year, Downingtown High School Marching Band took home the Grand Champion title and prizes.

“La Difference Salon and Day Spa is happy to join CTDI in sponsorship of the band competition at the 40th Annual QVC West Chester Christmas Parade,” said Christy Cosgrove, manager at La Difference Salon & Day Spa. “Both my mom, Mary Lou Enoches, and my uncle, Francis Polito, helped start the Christmas parade back in 1980, so it’s so meaningful to me seeing downtown West Chester packed with people during the Christmas parade that they began 40 years ago. Plus, the band competition is my favorite part!”

Winners of the Strike Up the Bands band competition will be announced at the parade’s main stage, on the corner of High Street and Market Street, in front of the historic courthouse, immediately following the parade.
