How Does Chamber Membership Help Your Community: GWCC’s COVID Response
COVID-19 has had an enormous impact on our daily lives and within our region. The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce is working hard to do everything we can to support our members and our community during this unprecedented time.
Here are just a few of the things GWCC has done for its members during the coronavirus pandemic:
Keeping our members in the know
Within days of the shutdown, we created a COVID-19 page on our website that houses business resources and coronavirus news at local, state, and federal levels. Click here to see it for yourself.
Supporting our service industry
To aid our service industry employees (that that make a living off their tips), we created a Virtual Tip Jar for the greater West Chester region. More than 450 local employees joined. Supporting our local employees means supporting the local economy!
Closed… but still awesome!
A few weeks into the shutdown, our members needed a morale boost. We designed Closed But Still Awesome signs for our members who had to close to hang in their windows. The story was even featured on NBC10!
Staying connected virtually
To keep our local business community connected, we moved our events online! From relevant topics like SBA loan compliance and social media marketing post-COVID to fun networking through trivia, we work hard to ensure our members stay connected – no matter the crisis.
Providing professional advice
We put together a team of local experts for Virtual Office Hours to help our members navigate the crisis. These experts, ranging from CPAs to HR professionals, helped our members stay on top of topics from daily policy changes to loan information and everything in between.
Advocating for our economy
As the rest of Pennsylvania moved from the red phase to the yellow, Chester County’s economy was feeling the heat. We sent a letter to PA Governor Tom Wolf advocating for Chester County to be moved to the yellow phase so we could get our economy back on track.
At the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, we care deeply for our members and for our community. If this is what we do in bad times, imagine what we can do in good times. For more information on the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, please visit us at www.GreaterWestChester.com.
