GWCC Names Shannon Royer as New President
The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce (GWCC) is proud to welcome Shannon Royer as its new President. Royer succeeds David Fairman, who’s last day as Interim President was February 19th and had risen to the helm when long-time Chamber President, Mark Yoder, resigned in June 2020.
Headquartered in the heart of the West Chester Borough, GWCC is the leading organization for local businesses regarding advocacy, resources, and opportunities. The Chamber focuses on assisting its members with attaining new customers, addressing serious business challenges, and becoming an integral part of our thriving community. Our membership consists of large and small businesses including retail and restaurants, corporations, and professionals, as well as many nonprofit and educational organizations. All are welcome to join the GWCC and experience the many benefits that Chamber membership has to offer.
“Shannon has a passion for the local community and a long record of accomplishments. He will be a tremendous resource for the Chamber and its membership as this extraordinary and resilient region rebuilds stronger than ever,” says Matthew Shea, Chair of the Chamber Board.
Royer, a graduate of West Chester University, most recently served as Chief of Staff for Senator Tom Killion (PA 9th District), where his responsibilities focused on directing the Capitol & district offices; along with developing and overseeing the implementation of outreach initiatives such as newsletters, mailings, town halls, and various other events. In addition, Royer has been an active member of the Chester County community for many years and served on numerous local boards such as the West Chester Jaycees, West Chester Area Senior Center, and the West Chester Borough Council; to name just a few.
Royer states, “It’s a great honor to serve as President of one of our region’s premier Chambers. The pandemic has been extraordinarily challenging for the business community. Our families and the economy benefit when businesses flourish; thus, I look forward to helping our local job providers during these uncertain times.”
Please join the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce Staff & Board in welcoming our new President, Shannon Royer. He and everyone at the GWCC looks forward to helping the Chester County Community rebound from the global pandemic to once again be a thriving business community; as well as a desired area to reside and visit.
